FAQ's  (frequently asked questions)


Didn't you used to be "Jen's Design Shop"?
Yes! I changed my name to better serve the blog community and make it easier to find a blog designer.  I now offer more design services and have a "new" blog friendly look to easily navigate my site.

HELP! I don't have a blog yet, but would like one?

Just visit http://www.blogger.com/ and get a FREE blog.  It's easy and just choose the "Minima" template for your blog layout.


What’s the first step to getting started?

First, visit our menu to find just the right choice of designs you desire.  Once you have chosen, just click on the sidebar "click to order".  When you have added all the "Package and/or add-ons" you want with your package, just click "Pay Now".  You will be taken to "Paypal" to pay your deposit on your package. (*note* you still will have a balance due but are only required to pay a non-refundable deposit to secure your place in the waiting list)


Why do I have to pay a "deposit"?

I require a no-refundable deposit to 'reserve' your spot in line on the "waiting list".  The deposit is "non-refundable" because of the amount of time spent on designing your blog, if you choose to change your mind.
 
What if I start on a design and would like to "HOLD" because of a family emergency?

Once you have submitted your deposit, you will be placed on the schedule. If it is your turn and I have already begun your design, I can only "hold" a design for 7 days.  If you still want a design but cannot resume in the 7 days, you will have to forfeit your place in line on the "waiting list" and be placed at the end of the line.

After I’ve submitted my deposit, will you start on my design immediately?

Once you have submitted your deposit, you will be placed on the schedule. You can check the schedule HERE to see where your design is in the queue.

I've submitted my questionnaire, payment, TOD's or sent you an email, but I haven't heard from you!
All emails are responded to within 48 hours (except for on Sundays).  Please check your SPAM folder to make sure my email didn't end up there. 
Remeber to add my email address to your address book (jen@the-blog-cafe.blogspot.com) to keep this from happening. I know that can be frustrating.
If you still have not heard from me in 48 hours, please resubmit your questionnaire.

Once you have started the design process, how long will it take to finish?

The length of the process depends on several factors (your place in the queue, our communication, and the difficulty of the design).   Please also remember that I will need to be in contact with you by email to approve designs quickly. If you can let me know your schedule so that I can work with you, this will speed up the process.
I cannot promise any set length of time, but usually with quick response from the client, we can be finished within 7 business days for blog designs, 7-10 business days for web designs, and only 2-3 days for designs from our "Munchies" menu, from the start of the design.  (please remember you are only allowed "3" revisions to your draft before its complete. Extra drafts will be charged $5.00 per draft over 3 revisions. (please remember I have other clients in line waiting, just like you)


Will I be able to see you "working" on my new design?
Yes! I have special "client rooms" that are private and viewable to only you and me.  As I create the work, I upload and you can see and comment as I go. Remember though, you only have 3 revisions allowed, so its best to wait until I contact you to comment for any changes.  All pieces of design work (headers, banners, buttons, etc.) are uploaded and then you are contacted by email for your approval of each part/piece.

I do not have a PayPal account, do I have to set one up to pay my deposit?

No, you do not have to have a PayPal account to pay me.
All you have to do is click on the "add to cart" button to the 'package' or 'munchie' that you'd like and this will take you to PayPal where you can simply pay with a credit card/debit card. If you choose to pay by check through PayPal it will take 3 to 5 days to clear. I cannot not add you to the schedule until your check has cleared into my account.

I want to add a counter to my site, can you do this for me?

I will be happy to research and find these types of widgets to add to your site for an additional charge of $5 per item.

Are you on facebook?
Yes!  The Blog Cafe is on facebook! I often put out giveaways, specials and deals on there, so 'add me' and you might be a 'winner'!

What if I do not see my question here?

Please feel free to email me with any questions or requests you have. If I do not list something on my "menu" or "munchies", ask me and I can research and let you know if I can do it as a "special order" or add it to the "menu" for everyone! (jen@the-blog-cafe.blogspot.com)
